According to the Foundation's aims, we believe that music is of fundamental importance, especially in the first stages of a child's education. Encouraged by the success of the Edward Said Kindergarten in Ramallah, we are carrying out an Early Childhood Music Education project in Andalusia.
The project's aims are as follows:
This project is addressed to:
Nowadays, this project is carried out in 23 state schools from Seville, Malaga and Cordova and reaches around 2,600 students.
Likewise, several children choirs have been created in Seville. These choirs meet twice a week after school. Here children learn how to sing and are also introduced to music language and to the historic and humanistic context of the chosen songs.
In collaboration with the International University of Andalusia, the foundation has established a masters degree in Early Childhood Music Education, with the purpose of educating specialised teachers in this area.
Besides, the Foundation organises several music education courses for beginners during school holidays every year. These courses allow the Foundation to take its activities to other Andalusian cities.
